A low-alcohol artisanal liqueur made from typical local herbs, 100% made in Vallesabbia. Smooth, pleasant and aromatic taste on the palate.
Insolito 78 Gold was born in December 2020, from an unprecedented meeting between Davide Baruzzi, a Sala Bar teacher at the Giacomo Perlasca Hotel Institute in Idro and a longtime collaborator of various hospitality facilities, as well as a professional sommelier, bartender and cafeteria expert, and Giorgio Paderno, a professional liquorist from Bergamo who produces classic and artisanal liqueurs with his company.
Made by infusion methods without the use of powders or extracts but from the roots and raw product as originally. In addition to this all the ingredients of this fantastic liqueur are local and come directly from our Brescian foothills of the Alps.
A product born out of love and passion for their territory, to send a positive message and pay homage to Valsabbia
In such a peculiar year for everyone, Davide’s original idea was just to give birth to something that would send a positive message in a difficult time and a tribute to Valsabbia, with something that would enhance its territory and be exportable.
So with the help of the entrepreneur from Bergamo after a long period of research, trials and many tastings, Insolito 78 Gold was born.
A product that is the result of theexperience and professionalism of its founders in the selection of natural and quality products from the beautiful Vallesabbia, studied so that they could obtain a balanced product, both olfactory and taste.
This liqueur representsa small rarity, appreciated by both a male and female audience; from the young to the older person, delicate in appearance, smell, taste. Insolito is a liqueur for everyone: delicate in taste, elegant in its being, polite of bearing, humble in front of others, which are the basic requirements for those who, like Davide work in the bar room.
It is Rockefeller’s but I feel it mine says Davide: “the secret of success is to do ordinary things in an insolito way.” The number 78 refers to her year of birth and Gold refers to the color of the liquor, a golden yellow.
Study, research, meticulousness, love, high quality, delicacy, naturalness.
Summed up in one word: balance.
Insolito 78 Gold does not like sugar; it would hide too much of the herbs’ aromas and flavors. It has excellent digestive properties, given the various botanicals, and is also suitable in making fantastic cocktails.
- Pairings: ideal to drink chilled or with two ice cubes, perhaps accompanied by a few juniper berries or mint leaves, or paired with a berry chocolate with 60/70 percent dark hazelnuts.
- Infusion: 15 days and subsequent filtration before bottling.
Insolito 78: What makes it special (and how is it different from the Insolito liquor Orange)?
What is Insolito 78 Gold and where did it come from?
It is an artisanal herbal liqueur born in Vallesabbia (Brescian Prealps): natural, without dyes or preservatives, created with local botanicals. Created by Davide Baruzzi to enhance the territory, it has a smooth and aromatic profile, golden yellow color and low alcohol content (21% vol). It is perfect as a digestive and for light mixology with a pre-alpine touch.
What ingredients does it contain and what is the gradation?
Recipe based on herbs from the Valsabbia: roots and flowers such as angelica, gentian, yarrow, plus juniper, mint and saffron; infusion of the raw material for days and patient filtrations, with no powders or extracts.
Alcoholic strength 21% vol: balance of fragrance, freshness and measured sweetness, ideal for those seeking an elegant and versatile herbal digestive.
What is the difference between Insolito78 Gold and Insolito78 Orange?
Profile and use: Gold is herbaceous, soft and golden (21% vol), created as a digestive and great for light cocktails. Orange is citrusy, with orange as the protagonist and 24% vol, designed for modern mixology.
When to choose Gold: after a meal or paired with chocolate and dried fruit.
When to choose Orange: spritzes and citrusy long drinks, fresh twists on classics.
Two souls of the same Vallesabbia: herbs vs. citrus, elegance vs. liveliness.
How best to drink? Temperature, pairings and cocktails
Shake gently before pouring.
Serve chilled: straight from the refrigerator or with 2 ice cubes.
Garnish: 1-2 juniper berries or mint leaf.
Pairings: 60-70% dark chocolate, berries, hazelnuts.
Low-ABV cocktail: Insolito T onic (Insolito78 + tonic) or light spritz with bubbles.
So the pre-Alpine herbal notes emerge, with a clean, non-sickly finish.
How to store it after opening?
Keep the bottle tightly closed, away from light and heat. A cool pantry is perfect; the refrigerator is not mandatory but it helps to serve it immediately at the right temperature. Thanks to the 21% vol, it maintains scents and flavors for a long time: to enjoy the best of the vegetal notes, we recommend finishing it within a few months.
