Marzemino IGT wine is an important red with great character.
The Benaco Bresciano IGT appellation was created in 1995 and represents one of the most important wine-growing areas in the Lombardy region, Valtenesi.
For about 20 years, the La Guarda winery has been doing trials and experiments to increase its yield while maintaining its distinctive characteristics: the Marzemino grapes are harvested by hand, a particularly uniform ripeness, a color among the most intense, an alcohol content of about 13 degrees, a slightly herbaceous taste and an important saltiness conferred by the soil.
The La Guarda winery, which produces this excellent wine, uses traditional and modern techniques to produce high quality wines.
Recommended pairings with Marzemino IGT Benaco Bresciano wine
Traditional pairings are with braised, stewed meats, aged cheeses and traditional Brescia cured meats, but it is so good that it deserves to be drunk on its own as well by uncorking it at least an hour before serving at an optimal temperature of 16/18°.

Marzemino IGT Benaco Bresciano: origin and pairings
What wine is Marzemino IGT Benaco Bresciano?
A Brescian Garda red produced mainly from Marzemino grapes (min. 85%) in the IGT area encompassing the southwest of Lake Garda. This reference comes from Muscoline (Valtènesi) and claims 13% vol, for a ruby, red-fruit and violet-scented style with a dry, full-bodied sip.
What does “24 months in oak barrels” indicate on the label?
It means that the wine ages two years in wood, developing notes of sweet spices and greater softness of tannins. The result is a more complex Marzemino suitable for rich dishes (spit, roasts), to be served not too hot. For the best experience:
Temperature 16-18 °C
Open/oxygenate 20-30 min before
Wide goblet
