From the elegance of China Calissaia and Gentian, combined with an indigenous Lake Garda grape variety, is born Inchino, the only red Chinato wine

Inchino is a flavored end-of-meal, dessert wine, one of those few meditation wines; a true rarity for the Lombard wine world.

The maceration in alcohol of China bark and Gentian root make a spicy but well-balanced taste, very pleasant to the nose and mouth, with a nice aftertaste and good persistence. The flavoring gives this Lake Garda wine a softness and sweetness while maintaining acidity to make it fresh and pleasant.

Not comparable to any other, it is a rarity conceived and produced by the owner of the La Guarda farm, Negri Luigi, which garners much acclaim from those who appreciate fortified wines such as the well-known Barolo chinato. Inchino is a product, among the few, that holds up to pairing with chocolate.

Inchino is a flavored wine, a true rarity for the Lombard wine world.

From an indigenous Valtènesi grape variety with the elegance of calissaja and gentian cinchona infused with spices, aromas and cinchona, one of a kind that no one had ever dared in the province of Brescia, a true “bow” to pleasantness.

It is well suited in the kitchen for flavoring dishes but is also a wine for meditation, for the end of a meal or for a sweet closure. Its uniqueness allows it to win the battle with the difficult pairing with chocolate, a winning combination and an overwhelming marriage that between chocolate and Inchino so much so that Luigi has specially designed a praline of 60% dark chocolate from Cacao Criollo dell’Equador, the most sought-after, which explodes in the mouth in all its surprising harmony of Inchino, enclosed in it in its liquid state.

These pralines, sweet Inchini their name, is a refined pairing in homage to autumn, to the warmth it arouses when the first cold weather appears.

Recommended pairings with this flavored wine

In addition to the specially designed pralines, it is a fortified wine, so try it with dark chocolate, sacher cake, zuppa inglese, and mud cake, the classic American chocolate cake, a very compact and tasty dessert made with dark chocolate.

Also perfect to accompany a fruit salad of strawberries and cherries.

It lends itself very well to a delicate first course such as “Inchino” risotto for a second course such as spiced pork tenderloin and a side dish of hard cheeses such as Bagoss, the Tombea, the Silter and other great seasonings such as Grana Padano.

Inchino, Garda chinato wine: how best to enjoy it?

What is Inchino, a flavored wine of Garda?

This is our Lake Garda red chinato wine: made in Muscoline (Brescia) from an indigenous Valtènesi grape variety and an infusion of calissaja cinchona, gentian and spices. It is a meditation wine, perfect for dessert, with 17% vol and 0.50-liter bottle. It is signed by Azienda Agricola La Guarda, a family business that enhances the Garda territory. The nose is spicy, the sip bittersweet and balanced, with a balsamic trail. Unique of its kind on Lake Garda, it is the local interpretation of the “vino chinato” style.

What is the difference between chinato wine, vermouth and bitter?

Three different worlds but “cousins.”
Chinato wine: a wine (often red) flavored with cinchona calissaja and spices: bittersweet taste, perfect for meditation or dessert.
Vermouth: a wine flavored and fortified with artemisia, citrus and herbs: star ofaperitifs and cocktails (Negroni, Americano).
Amaro: a liqueur (not wine) with a neutral alcohol base and herbs/roots, usually more alcoholic; typical digestive.

L’Inchino can replace red vermouth in cocktails for a softer, more territorial version of Lake Garda.

At what temperature does it serve and with what pairings does it perform best?

Serve it at 12-14 °C in a dessert/meditation wine glass, without chilling it too much. Inchino loves dark chocolate and cocoa desserts (Sacher cake, zuppa inglese, mud cake). It surprises with red fruits (strawberries, cherries).
