By sponsoring a cow from afar, you’ll help Ester and Giacomo continue their work at Malga Vaia. This Malga is located in the municipality of Bagolino at 1800 meters. Next to the malga, there’s also the Vaia Lake (1910 meters), well-known in our valley for the chance to fish the finest salmonid species. A special world full of traditions that we at bbuono are committed to supporting and promoting.

During the adoption, you’ll receive a monthly supply of good and genuine products made with milk from Ester’s cows that live and feed at high altitude with local hay. Every month you can enjoy exclusive products and help a special world: a world made of sacrifices and passion, tenacity and resilience.

Adopting remotely with bbuono is really simple.

Choose the adoption plan you prefer: 1 month “Supporter”, 3 months “Cow’s Friend” or 6 months “Happy Cow” and every month we’ll send you fresh and genuine dairy products. Whatever package you choose, you’ll always get a digital photo with the producer and your cow along with home delivery of the A3 format paper certificate.
The shipments will be made monthly within 15 days from the date of your order to the address you want (at home, at the office, or at the gift recipient’s home).

What products will you receive every month during the adoption period?

If you choose the adoption plan for 3 months, you’ll get 1 kg of cheese every month. With the 6-month adoption, besides the precious cheese, you’ll also receive a cowbell as a gift at the end of the period.

Get a real adoption certificate in A3 format

With the first delivery, along with the products, you’ll receive a beautiful adoption certificate for your cow with your name. But that’s not all, we’ll also send you by email a photo of the producer, next to the adopted cow, which certifies the name of the person adopting it.

Alpe Vaia is a fantastic place, the cheese-making tradition of Ester Paterlini and the surrounding landscape are like a fairy tale! The mountain pasture hut is surrounded by meadows and forests, the lower part is at 1500 meters altitude, the summer pasture is at 2200 meters, where you’ll find summer meadows and forests, mainly made up of red spruce, white spruce, and beech.

Can I visit the mountain hut? Where is the company located?

Absolutely yes! You can visit the farm to see your adopted cow and the surrounding environment.

The company is located inside a glacial basin in the Vaia stream basin; a picturesque setting where there’s also a small lake, near Monte Maniva and the Crocedomini Pass. The Vaia pasture is managed by Ester Paterlini’s farm, and she has a close and unbreakable bond with the territory and the high mountain pastures. In this pristine environment, Ester produces two great products worthy of belonging to the elite of gastronomy, the malga butter made from raw cream, a rare and highly sought-after malga product. Equally noteworthy is the aged Vaia local cheese, also made from raw milk and produced only in the summer.

From June to September, the cows live happily in the meadows in an environment that suits them, feeding on grass and unique floral essences, which transfer to the milk, and then to the cheese, those organoleptic characteristics that only a natural product and the result of the ancient mountain cheesemaking art of Ester can convey. In the winter, they return to lower altitudes at the Malga di Piano where they will feed on local hay ready to recover for the new summer grazing season.

Questions and answers about sponsoring a cow from Ester

Prices: the prices shown are valid only for shipments within Italy. For deliveries in Europe and abroad, write to us at hello@bbuono.it to receive a tailored quote.

Cheese: the cheese is freshly cut on the day of shipment into pieces and vacuum packed. It may slightly differ in weight from the description, by more or less than 10%, due to preparation as we hand-cut each piece.

Alpine butter: the butter comes in a 500-gram package, shipped via express courier and in HACCP packaging to maintain the cold chain for 72 hours. The butter is shipped very fresh with an expiration of 20/25 days, so you can freeze it upon receipt to extend its shelf life.
