bbuono, together with the Poscavri farm, has decided to commit to safeguarding the natural ecosystem of bees and to support two young producers.
By adopting a beehive, you can help a small business, protect the planet and receive the honey from your adoption directly at home.
How does adoption work?
Here’s what you’ll receive directly at your home
Adopting a beehive with bbuono is very simple.
Choose the adoption plan you prefer: Ape ceraiola, Ape operaia, Ape Nutrice or Ape Bottinatrice and we’ll send the honey directly to your home or ship it to whoever you want to receive it.

What will the photos we send you look like?
The photos we’ll send you will be unique and taken just for you in high quality.
You can print them on a sheet as big as A3 so you’ll always have them as a keepsake. Along with the products, we remind you that the paper certificate in A3 format will also be sent.
Natural and genuine candies made with high mountain wildflower honey
A 100% natural remedy to relieve symptoms of cough and sore throat.
In every type of adoption, you’ll also find candies made with honey from the Poscavrì farm. Delicious and genuine candies, with simple and all-natural ingredients. Each adoption includes a package of candies with a “random flavor”; if you want to receive or gift a specific flavor, you can add it in the order notes so we can include your favorite in the package.
By adopting a beehive, you’ll receive products certified as “Mountain Product”
A quality mark (issued by the European Commission) aimed at promoting the recognition and characteristics of agri-food products from mountain areas. The goal of this certification is twofold: to protect both the customer and the producer.
Our valleys of Brescia are areas with a long tradition passed down over the years. The gastronomic heritage is very significant and appreciated by our customers. It’s needless for us at bbuono to say that a mountain product is much more difficult and challenging to produce compared to a product made “in the plains”.
All Poscavrì products are labeled “Mountain Product”, a certification that supports sustainability and ensures recognition and protection.
Millefiori Honey
Not the usual sweet wildflower honey but a honey with a unique taste given by the area and the harvest period.
Poscavri honey is made in a hilly area at 700 meters above sea level, where the bees are free to forage on uncultivated meadows filled with all kinds of flowers. The bees make honey by collecting nectar from one flower to another.
The apiary is perched on the mountain, far from urban areas, factories, and industrial zones. Intensive farming has never reached this area and no pesticides or insecticides are used.
This is what allows Poscavri to produce natural and genuine honey.
Chestnut honey
Fragrant, intense, with a caramelized flavor and amber color.
The properties of this honey led it to win a significant award: in 2020 it was recognized with the Silver Bee of Lombardy as the third best honey in the region.
It’s a dark honey, with an aromatic smell and a complex taste. Known for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, it’s a source of proteins, vitamins B and C, and minerals.
Pollen grains
Pollen is a nutritional treasure, a 100% natural dietary supplement from which we can benefit from its numerous properties.
Honey candies
Delicious honey-based candies with various flavors added.
Honey and Berries, Honey and Propolis, Honey Lemon and Ginger.
Pollimiel
Two excellent ingredients that create a product that gives energy. Taken as is or dipped in a cup of hot milk, it’s ideal for adults and kids to get an extra boost.
The Poscavrì farm, two young beekeepers who love nature and their land
At the Poscavri farm, the management of the apiaries is carried out through a deep understanding of the needs of these precious insects, monitoring the environment daily and responding to their needs. Among the mountains, Martina and Alessandro have created an authentic and rich honey always respecting the surrounding environment.
A young reality, but with a strong desire to create a unique product that can bring the authentic taste of true nature to the table.
Far from the industrial production system, the honey from the farm Poscavri is the result of the commitment of those who care about the well-being of bees, based on a responsible production choice, inspired by criteria of sustainability and respect for nature.
The hives are checked daily so we can act immediately if any problems arise, the bees are pampered and protected by hands that know them well and prioritize their well-being. This generous love the bees receive can only be returned with exceptional honey, the result of a respectful balance between man and environment. A natural product of high quality with a velvety texture.

In recent years, about 40% of beehives have been lost in Italy. Bees are also increasingly threatened by human activities, insects, pesticides, and changes in land use that can reduce the nutrients available to them and threaten their often numerous colonies. This issue has also been highlighted by the United Nations.
Bbuono, in collaboration with the Poscavri farm, has decided to make sure this doesn’t happen, with the Adoption project anyone can adopt a beehive.
By adopting a beehive, you can contribute to the management of the bees and you’ll have the right to receive their products, honey, pollen, honey and pollen candies.

This project allows participation in the protection of bees from the constant threat of pesticides: adoption, besides being an educational action, represents personal and collective ecological involvement, an effective gesture of love towards nature.

Every year on May 20th, we celebrate the World Bee Day! The aim is to raise public awareness about the threats they face and their contribution to sustainable development.
Bees enable many plants to reproduce, and through their work of pollination, they are responsible for about 80% of the food we eat every day. Let’s respect and help beekeepers take care of them, and not let them disappear.
Questions and answers about adopting a beehive remotely
Can I gift the adoption and put it in someone else’s name?
Absolutely yes! Just mention it in the order notes or message us on WhatsApp. The certificate will show the name of the person you want to gift the hive adoption to.
When will I receive the products with the paper certificate?
From the order receipt, usually within a couple of days, we’ll personally go to the producer to take the photo with your certificate. The next day, we’ll send you the digital photo and ship your package with the adoption products and certificate via express delivery.
I don’t have an email, can I get the photos on WhatsApp?
Yes! Just let us know your request in the order notes and we’ll send the photos directly to your phone number.
What if the available honey runs out when I receive it?
If the wildflower honey is out of stock, you’ll receive an email within a few days with a photo of the beekeeper with the hive and a photo of the certificate.
The honey, along with the paper certificate, will be sent later, at the first available extraction.
What quality will the photos I receive be?
The photos you receive can be printed on an A3 sheet without any deterioration. We’ll send everything via email within a few days from the time of adoption.

Some actions you can take to help the bees too
Talking with Martina and Alessandro, we gathered some valuable tips on how anyone, even without a beehive, can help protect the bees.
Just follow these simple tips:
- There are some “bee-friendly” flowers, besides sunflower seeds, you can plant in the garden or on the balcony flowers like marigold, daisy, sainfoin, and lavender, or if you have a small vegetable garden, plants like thyme, rosemary, or coriander are always welcome.
- The most important thing to protect these amazing little animals is to avoid using any kind of chemical pesticide. Whenever possible, we always use some natural and organic method.
- Buy local products and support small producers just like we do at bbuono. You might wonder what buying a mountain cheese or a jam from a small producer has to do with it. Simply put, it avoids funding industrial agriculture where chemical pesticides that harm the soil and insects, like our bees, have to be used.

Fun facts about bee families 🐝
Did you know there are different types of bee families?
- Queen bee: the one and only to hold the hive’s scepter, always fed with royal jelly, can live for 5 years and lay up to 2000 eggs a day.
- Drone: is the male bee, there are about a hundred per hive and they are used to fertilize the young queens during the “nuptial flight”, it lives about 50 days, and after mating, it dies.
Inside the hive, there’s a clear division of bees into different castes, and each of them has a different role.
- Worker bee: she’s female but not fertile like the queen, she does all the work needed for the survival of the colony, she can live on average 40-45 days in the summer and up to 6 months during the cold season.
The worker bee can take on different tasks based on the hive’s needs and its development cycle:
- Cleaning bee, cleans the honeycombs and the hive;
- Nurse bee, take care of the larvae’s nutrition;
- Wax-sealing bee, closes the cells of the bees that will be born;
- Undertaker bee, removes dead bees from inside the hive;
- Storage bee, receives nectar and pollen to store it inside the honeycombs;
- Guardian bee, defends the hive from external attackers and bees from other hives;
- Fan bee, the bees ventilate to keep the temperature stable inside the hive and allow the dehydration of the nectar stored in the combs;
- Forager bee, it collects nectar, pollen, propolis, and water;
- Builder bee, builds the wax cells of the honeycombs and repairs the broken ones.
