The white wine Lugana Late Harvest “Rabbiosa” from the Marangona winery in Pozzolengo captures aromas of candied fruit and spices in its golden yellow color
. Its sweet, enveloping, and warm taste makes it ideal as a dessert wine paired with dry pastries or to accompany cheese tasting, especially gorgonzola.
A 100% Trebbiano di Lugana that is harvested in November, a late harvest that allows the grapes to wither in the historic vineyards of the Marangona winery.
A bottle of Lugana DOC “Rabbiosa” to enjoy the residual sugar that creates an unforgettable harmony in the mouth.
A product made using only native Turbiana grapes from the oldest vineyard of the Marangona company, where the vines are most exposed to air currents, allowing the clusters to get just the right amount of nighttime humidity at the end of October, combined with the dry daytime climate. This environment allows the development of botrytis (a fungus) on the grape skins, leading to the concentration of the must’s components.
Harvesting takes place in November to allow this fungus to interact with the grapes for the development of new aromatic precursors and a natural concentration of the juice.
Fermentation is spontaneous and slow, and not all sugars turn into alcohol, resulting in a wine with a lower alcohol content and a sugary residue that’s not overpowering.
