We were enchanted by the good and genuine products of malga Masne, the milk from their cows from which Nostrano Valtrompia DOP is also made.
Valentina and Morris, the owners of the alpine hut, run it from June to September at high altitude in the vicinity of Mt. Campione at 1900 meters; in the coldest period they descend to the lowest altitude, at 1250 meters, in their brand new alpine hut Poffe.
After spending several years renting with other herdsmen, multiple sacrifices and comparing experiences, Morris understood very well the importance of making excellent alpine products so he realized his dream. Together with Valentina, his partner (also from an alpine family) with great satisfaction and aware of the difficulties they decided to buy their own alpine pasture where they still keep their animals.
Now it can be said that their dream is realized. The malga is also a small farm where 38 cows, 50 goats, 11 donkeys live, and they could not, in this dream place, miss a mare and a small piglet for the happiness of their children.
Valentina and Morris produce high-quality cheeses, some of their wheels are selected to be made into Nostrano Valtrompia DOP, which is also aged in the mine at Graticelle.
