Birrificio Felice: the Garda beer started by two friends who love good beer.

During an excursion on Lake Garda we came across a microbrewery in San Felice. This is where a particular beer from Lake Garda is brewed using local ingredients.

Felice Beer was born from the meeting of two friends, John and Valerio , who love good beer. Their passion led them to arm themselves with pots, stoves and other paraphernalia that, combined with a lot of study and research, involved them in making craft beer “their way.”

The birth of the idea: “producing something of our own and making it present in the territory”

Like many peers , John and Valerio tell us that they found themselves wanting to get away from a road fully embedded in the “socially acceptable” while not getting completely out of it, so they came up with this idea of producing something of their own and making it present in the territory. If you will also as a way of communicating and communicating with each other.

The choice of beer stems first of all from theinnate passion for its consumption, which they already had in common. The fascination with the production process that from the grain arrives at the result we all know, finally also a bit from the intuition that in the particular area of San Felice del Benaco there could have been room, being also possible the strong connection with elements of the area, such as citrus fruits, already often used in the Belgian brewing tradition.

The production difficulties in making a craft beer are many

The process is very delicate, perfection in execution is the starting point, from which harmonies of particular aromas and flavors, whimsy and experimentation can be inserted.

Certainly one of the most difficult things is to manage the timing well so that you have the beer mature at the right time and in the right quantity: working with 8 references this can become complex.

Another important thing is that their unpasteurized and unfiltered beer is closer to a fresh product than to commonly known beer.

It suffers the heat, it suffers the light, and if a little mishap happens we all lose in the end.

Initially, Felice del Garda beer was brewed only for their brigade of friends on their home stove and in an old cellar.

It represented personal vicissitudes, taste, the pleasure of delighting and surprising, later became what it now is, a recognized reality in the area, without neglecting the initial passion, local ingredients and constant zeal in the continuous work of quality and research.

Today, as then, experimentation and tastings with friends continue, they try to put impressions and ideas of everything around them into recipes; the poetics and stories that accompany all their products.

The beers are brewed following the ancientprinciple of Reinheitsgebot, an ancient statement of Bavarian purity to regulate the ingredients, process and quality of the beers, this standard requires only theuse of water, malted grains and hops.

The inspiration for the production of Felice beer comes from their land.

The scents of Lake Garda, the citrus fruits they grow, the flavors of the surrounding mountains, and from the innate agricultural vocation that is characteristic of the Valtènesi.

We at bbuono were very impressed with their storytelling, and seeing the production process firsthand was a wonderful experience, helpful in better understanding all the beers we tasted and selected.

Ah, not to be left out, the “boys” of Birrificio Felice still label each and every beer by hand, through the silkscreen printing technique.

What can I say… craftsmanship from A to Z!

Why did we choose Felice Brewery as a bbuono partner?

Bbuono was looking for a craft beer from Lake Garda that had specific qualities and was in tune with its values.

Seeking quality is obvious, but we wanted something more. Giovanni and Valerio, from Felice Brewery, have built a wonderful business, a small malting facility where, with great passion, they brew beer always using top-quality hops, including those from their own hop field.

Felice Brewery is a dynamic company with a philosophy that fully reflects what we were looking for, and we thank them for accepting to collaborate with bbuono.
